“MOTHER DEAREST”

Written by X / Art by

Mother Dearest,

Why do you not smile?

Why do your lips pinch,

Every.

Single.

Time.

Why do I not feel your love?

Mother Dearest,

It appears that you are screaming.

Yet no words are coming out.

Stand-still:

A memory of you that I walk through.

Mother Dearest,

Lay salt on my wounds

Why don’t you?

Add salt to my tears,

Why don’t you?

Mother Dearest,

The pain.

It hurts to love you so.

Shadows seep into my mind.

I hear your voice judging me,

Hardening me.

I only ever wanted to get to know

You.

You.

You.

Oh, Mother Dearest.

I feel rejected

Every.

Single.

Time.

You turn your cheek

And my lips are pressing,

Searching for love.

Yet all I receive is Emptiness, instead.

Mother, Dearest.
